Do these idiots not realize they can act like adults and buy property?
But then we’re back to the taxation is theft issue. I just bought a house. I have no issue with the idea of knowing that until I pay off my loan, that the bank has a claim in my property.

On the other hand, while I get property taxes and will always pay them (although the suck) and I even see the value in what they provide, it doesn’t feel like I own my property if it can and will he seized if say 50 years from now I decide to stop paying my property taxes, even after giving them $400,000 or $500,000 maybe more up until that point.

That does feel like theft moreso than even income taxes since I can either (not have any income and/or have a low enough income not to pay them) or at retirement only pull my Roth and limit what I pull from the taxable retirement until the point I would owe money, or I can mentally discount my income the value after taxes.

that is the killer with property taxes

of all the taxes, my preferred tax was sales until that shite with GA recently made me realize how that can really hurt
