Nope, not at all.
I have the Ruger American Predator in .308
18" barrel
just put a new Magpul American hunter stock on it.
Waiting to shoot it.
There are also a few rifles called Scout Rifles. Ruger makes one. It would fit the bill as well.

I meant in regards to price. I think I recall a scout version of one the rifles I was looking at was $200 more than the regular version.
