I loved Vikings early on but it has been slipping since Ragnar for me. I’ve read all of the Saxon Stories so Last Kingdom has a big advantage. Despite Uthred being miscast it has a superior plot to follow.

Is it really that good? I've been looking for a new book and I've always heard good thing about the series, but 11 books is a heck of an investment.
