I've notice that our play calling gets conservative in the red zone

I know we have Tracy but we need to start getting tds

I’d play the red zone game like it was a playoff game. Call whatever play you need to score.. then use cole Tracy as a safety net.

Well...jump on up and tell the coaches how!

It was conservative because we knew we didn’t need to force the issue.
If Bana is putting up Points you’ll see us take more chances IMO

It's almost like they don't have as much field to utilize that far down the field, so there are less plays available
also, you're an idiot. We throw in the red zone way more than we ever have in the past. But you're partially correct in that MSU couldn't move the ball, so why not just take field goals yesterday and not turn the ball over

You're correct. The offense needs a killer attitude about punching the MF'ing ball across the goal line and not giving the other team any hope of a comeback.

eh, some. In the MSU game I don't blame them at all. With MSU's offense struggling, and our OL struggling, points were "amplified". Put it this way, I see no reason to gripe about it this time, this game. And I usually do gripe about it.
However......
4th Qtr- 0 redzone trips, 1 FG
Just outside the redzone: 8 plays (30yds) ended on the 22.
1 jet sweep
4 CEH rushes
1 QB rush
2 pass att, 1-2
Stats seem a little conservative. But to end that drive was a pass to Sullivan on about 10yd and the Burrow run. So entering the redzone we seemed non-conservative.
3rd Qtr- 1 redzone trip
From the 18:
1st down pass (Sullivan again)
2nd down CEH run
3rd down Burrow run
FG
So yeah, conservative. My point with these two examples is that it's not 100% conservative. We're taking some shots through the air. When they don't work, THEN we play for FG.
Worth noting that the only redzone trip we didn't at least attempt a pass on was the TD after the Divinity INT. In other words, we never "ran 3 times and kicked" except for that extremely short field.
For us, that's not quite conservative. Or what I would define as conservative.
I think we should continue that, 1 pass per series. Keep the passing simple. At the same time, get inventive and crazy with the run game in the redzone. Our OL needs some help with compacted levels.

I’m pretty positive we’ll take shots once we get in the redzone. O and Ensminger know that’s what has to be done. Not saying we’ll be successful but I’m pretty sure we’ll see a different offensive approach that night

because thats what every team does, the secondary is so condensed the odds of an interception go up 5 fold when you are in the red zone
its smart football to go to shorter condensed routes and more runs/screen passes

Against good defenses they go conservative to avoid a turnover.
