The cool thing about seeing those helmets on Gameday was how deep the purple was and how Gold it was when the light hit it. It was crazy to see the colors contrast that much. Those helmets are pretty cool.

A lot of helmets, but I did not go back and look, but I thought is said it took four coats for each one. Now you can still paint a lot of helmets with a gallon of paint

Yeah looking around I saw that it takes about a gallon to paint a medium sized car, so this wasn't even $10000 worth to paint the helmets.

Apparently each helmet required 4 coats.
