re: Not to beat a dead horse, but WTF with Giles...

The biggest problem with Giles' play so far is that when he gets the ball in space and has to make one man miss, he has consistently been easily tackled. Great playmakers can shake one guy in space more often than not. Chase, Marshall, and Jefferson are playmakers. I hope Jontre Kirkland will be a great playmaker and can take over for Giles. Dillon could be a playmaker but too many drops.

Giles - Disaster Transfer
Disaster?
He's got the highest punt return average of any LSU returner since Mathieu.

Burrow completes less than 15 passes per game, so there is only so much love to go around to anyone. Giles had a couple drops early, but the lack of volume for anyone outside of Jefferson makes it tough to tell how good/bad he truly is.

He hasn't had the ball in his hands enough, outside of punt returns to really get a feel for how good he can be. So far it's underwhelming. He definitely needs to step his game up.

That's basically my opinion.
We've tried to get him involved in the screen game, but when he catches it the blocking is shite, and when it sets up he drops it.
Just can't seem to find any rhythm.

I was told I was an idiot for pointing this out earlier in the season.

I think his skill set is not well served by Ensminger's style of offense. More often than not, we're throwing the ball downfield and allowing our big physical receivers to make plays on the ball. Giles seems like a guy who thrives in quick hitting pass play offense (e.g. Air Raid), where he can use his agility rather than top end speed to make some guys miss and get positive yards from the flats or from short curls and posts. I think under Canada he would have had a bigger season for LSU and it's unfortunate for him that he couldn't fit into what LSU is doing so well right now.

We are winning, the young man is struggling and appears to have lost his confidence, with that being said LET IT GO

He signed with LSU when Canada was the OC so that's a thought. Just not a fit for this offense.

Well you are beating a dead horse, so keep your out of touch arse, super fan on when things are looking good, criticizing young men who worked there arse off to have the opportunity to do what they do as they become productive citizens through the good, bad, and indifference off the rant.... so WTF is up with you

You want me to believe the fanbase actually thought a dude from texas tech was going to come to LSU and be our best DL?
First of all, he’s not our best DL, he is our second best. And this is exactly what most people thought he would be. There were a few who thought Shelvin was going to dominate, but only a few.

Wow, there sure are some angry replies here! ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
My guess is Giles would thrive in a high-volume short passing attack, functioning almost as a running back. Lots of screens and stuff in space, just beyond the line of scrimmage and outside the tackles.
Like is mentioned in this post, that's probably what he thought he was transferring into.
