Biggest 1 vs 1 Matchups vs. MSST on both sides of the ball

On offense I'm going with Damien Lewis vs. Jeffrey Simmons. If Lewis can get push on Simmons we should be able to run the ball between the tackles just like we did on UGA. If we can run the ball we can control TOP and take shots on play action.
On defense I'm going with Delpit vs. Fitzgerald. I don't think their passing attack scares us enough to need 2 safeties deep, and Delpit will spy Fitz. If he can make the 1vs1 tackles or just hold Fitz long enough for the gang to arrive we will stop the biggest part of their running game.
Who do you have as your biggest matchups?

With all due respect to Damien Lewis, he's not going to push Simmons around. Simmons was All-SEC last year for a reason. Maintaining him 1 on 1 will be an accomplishment, and he'll probably need some help more than a few times.
But I agree that establishing the run similarly to the UGA game would be huge.

I'm sure Cushenberry will help before moving to the LBs

Simmons will not be getting 1 on 1 looks. Dude is a terror in the middle.

Simmons vs. Cush & Lewis
Sahddiq vs Sweat
other side:
Divinity/Anthony vs. Fitz.
White vs. Hill
They're going to run that read option 100 times if they can.

I have a feeling there will be a lot of chipping/blocking by our TEs and RBs. Unfortunately, the best case scenario to relieve some of the pressure would be for Ensminger to dial up a lot of quick slants mixed in with some screens.

I'm just glad Fitz is playing QB and not Thompson I don't know what the coaching staff sees in Fitz anymore all he's good for is running Thompson played my high school (West Monroe) in the state championship a couple of years ago and ran through our vaunted defense he had like 500+ yards of offense and like 5 TD's nobody could stop him Les Miles late to the gun recruiting him then I see week one he had 7 TD's while Fitz was out makes me wonder why they can't see he's the better QB his recruitment reminded me of the Dak situation
