It's quite the opposite. Kanye support of Trump has hurt his support in the AA community. More people in AA community are turning on Kanye than changing their opinion of Trump.

The only opinions that are changing is the opinions of conservatives toward Kanye. IMO you're overestimating the "Kanye Effect".

If they're only changing their opinion on Kanye, they weren't supporting Trump to begin with, how exactly is that hurting Trump?

While I don’t have any stats to refute your claim, I will say that a conversation I had with a friend spawned my post. He is questioning his never trump mentality and the Democratic Party in general. He still doesn’t care for trump, but is seriously doing a political self-evaluation. We started on Ray J and ended on Woodrow Wilson.

Some Blacks who are really into his career may have a change of heart. The problem with the Kanye Effect is that it focuses solely on culture and not economics. Most people vote a specific based on their economic situation. Blacks make up a large share of low wage earners, it will take more than a few celebrities to convince them to vote differently.

You are actually missing the point.

AA's are traditionally Dem voters. Kanye has enormous power to influence them, esp the younger generations.

So even if the net gain to Trump's side is only 1% it's a win for conservatives and Trump. Anything more is just lagniappe. He's not losing any new voters, only gaining them. It's pretty easy to figure that out.
