I agree. These players weren't accustomed to being mentioned in the limelight of college football. There's a lot of national attention that goes with being the # 5 ranked team. They played as though they had already won the game and just had to show up. Not wrapping up on tackles, missed blocks, etc. and all these things make the difference in a game. I have no doubt LSU has more talent than Fla., they just didn't prove it. If, and that's a big IF, this team can come together and start playing hard and smart every game, they might have a chance to beat Ga. and every other team except Sabama. They will need to play exceptionally well and get a little help against Sabama. LSU just doesn't have the OC to compete with Sabama. Nor do they have the depth. In 1979 there were co NC's, USC and Alabama, LSU played both teams and nearly won both games. But that 79 LSU team had a lot of heart, not so much talent as Alabama or USC, but a lot of heart. Heart is what this LSU team needs to win out. I just haven't seen a lot of heart from this team so far this season.

Baskerville is young and should not be playing yet. There was nothing we could do about that. Kid will be great in the future. It was just one of those situations.

Battle on the other hand has been doing what he has been doing. Nothing. I have been saying it. Without good corner play we struggle. Battle can not play safety that great. He is no where on the level of the other guys that are back there with him. He can not cover and his tackling has always been suspect.

Giles.... Giles is not good people. I guess in a Texas Tech offense you have no choice but to look good because there was so many throws. His value as a punt returner is he only calls fair catches. He is not fast at all. Someone else said his value is a slot receiver. Have you watch the games. He is not good. Slow is a better term. He literally plays like a sign post. If the ball hits him in his hands he is fine, he will not run away from anyone. There has got to be someone else on this team that can catch a punt and is faster than him.
