Ex Buckeye WR Trevon Grimes had 3 catches total at OSU.
He was a 4-star recruit on a team where 5-stars don't get any special treatment.
Grimes expected to start immediately like Dobbins, Weber, Bosa etc. No such luck. Had some family issues in Florida, so he transferred with good wishes from the team. (and the transfer freed up a scholly)

he was 3rd string for the 2017 season before transferring after spring 2018 after either realizing he was not better than dwayne haskins, or expecting to be given the starting job and not getting it. either way, no such luck. may or may not have had some family issues in ohio, so he transferred with good wishes from the team. Burrow broke his hand and was Barrett's backup. Haskins then goes to backup and helped won the game vs Michigan last year. Against a bad Michigan defense with their second stringers. These factors helped Haskins secure starting QB this year. Spring game Burrow out performed Haskins. Haskins struggled. My niece plays softball for OSU and is friends with some of the players. Johnny Dixon and Mike Weber and Bosa said Burrow was their best QB even over Barrett. And FYI Meyer didn't develop Burrow. So if Joe and LSU continue to win and he does very well Meyer doesn't deserve the credit.

You do understand that multiple receivers start each game and multiple receivers play every down, right? There's just one quarterback, and they seldom rotate.
But you just wanted to be cute, right? Fail

Probably Burrow’s 3 pass attempts

You do understand that the Buckeye WR rotation did NOT include Trevon Grimes, Right? Bucks ran a 7-man rotation in '17. Grimes was the 10th WR
And Grimes was dead last for WR receiving yards. [Luke Farrell is a TE]

Ex Buckeye QB Joe Burrow Burrow was 29/39 for 287 and 2 TDs at OSU. Missed an opportunity to start when Barret went down due to broken hand. Was second string until the injury. His competition Haskins has passed for 1464 yards and 19 tds thus far. Over Barret’s Career he passed for 9434 and 104 tds which may set records including passing Brees total yards record in Big Ten. Didn’t lose out t poor quality competition. All in all Burrow did more than Grimes and earned the respect of his teammates as a leader. Don’t recall anyone legitimately calling for Grimes to be the starting receiver as they did for Burrow at QB. Out of the two one is making the best of his opportunities while improving and keeping his mouth shut. The other did nothing at his former school, isn’t doing so much at his new school, and needs to keep his mouth shut.

quote:And the backup QB gets a small share of the snaps with the 1st team every day. The 3rd guy gets zero. Burrow was still having some difficulty with the injury until 8 weeks (what the surgeon told him from day 1). So, of course Haskins held on to the #2 spot. it was a new Wilson/Day offense - first season of it.

No way Burrow was going to push Haskins aside in November with ZERO reps with the first team, and in a new offense.

I think that some of you haven't yet realized that Grimes and Burrow are friends and that Grimes was just messing with him with those comments.

What’s up with these OSU hating OSU fans on here? Burrow was better than two QBs chosen to start over him? One a multiple Big 10 first team selection at QB who set Big 10 and OSU records. And the second who is considered the Heisman front runner after his last game, which one of these anti-OSU fans panned. Meyers didn’t develop a QB that was on his team 3 years? Unbelievable!
You guys need to take a chill pill. Joe Burrow doesn’t need your constant assault on other OSU QBs to uplift him. His body of work at LSU will speak for itself. And it will have nothing to do with Haskins or Barrett. You’d think a true OSU fan would be happy with the success of both Barrett and Haskins. Yet here you are. I know LSU fans would be estactic with QB play at their level. Well except for that special group who wouldn’t be happy with any “dual threat” QB regardless of his success. You obviously have some other agenda. We have fans just like you. And they are miserable SOBs too.

OSU people who DO NOT believe Haskins is a better QB than Burrow are not haters. Haskins is a top-5 QB nationally. Everyone knows that. Burrow is also a top-5 QB. More people are now finding that out. And, when LSU beats Georgia, all the doubters will have "known it all along".
Meyer had always placed Burrow above Haskins on the depth chart until Burrow broke his hand. Burrow tried to come back after 3 or 4 weeks, but he was far from 100%. Burrow took it easy for 4 more weeks (like his surgeon said he should) So, in November, and with a new Wilson/Day offense, of course Haskins stayed as backup. Haskins had snaps every practice with the first team. Burrow had none.
Bottom line: Meyer (after analyzing them from hundreds of angles from the prior 2 years) rated Burrow & Haskins as equal. I buy that.

thats nice.
would you like me to point out those numbers were accumulated over 3 seasons, not 1 like grimes?
would you like me to point out that grimes actually played in year 1, burrow didnt?
would you like me to point out that all of burrow's stats came in games against the backups of completely inferior opponents where ohio st was ahead by 40+ points?

helped win? he played every snap against michigan last year. burrow played 0.

wtf does this even mean? the depths you burrow fanboys will sink to truthfully know no bounds.

your other fanboy that started this thread swears haskins never secured the starting position. yall need to get together and get your stories straight.

if thats the case, then he must have been REALLY far ahead of burrow to perform that poorly and still come out of spring having secured the starting position.

trevon grimes says burrow isnt even better than felipe franks.

oh this is even better than the dumbass michigan comment. let us know who deserves the credit for developing burrow then.
