But it’s easy to do now with Fidelity, Vanguard, etc., who are more likely to outperform managed funds even discounting the fees, they are moving towards towards no (even possibly negative) operating fees altogether.

I know it’s only a little bit of money, but when you’re already down 5 to 10 percent the moment you hand it over, plus any operating expenses which I suspect may be unnecessarily high anyways.
