You talking about since he sold to Disney?
Well I mean.....yeah.
Its not an advanced concept.
Disney could have announced the theatrical run remastered for HD before the ink dried if they wanted to.
At that point Lucas's opinion didn't mean anything.

Would love to watch them in Blu Ray without Lucas' belated CGI frickery.

I thought the original cuts were the property of Fox which Disney hasn't fully acquired yet.

I think fox held on to the distribution rights for A New Hope however I think it either expired last year or will this year.

He had more than originally listed - I saw the availability number drop to 0.
Or, he canceled for the very last one and now has it listed as a pure auction.

What additions? What changes did they make? I started phasing out my old DVDs with Blu Ray for my favorite movies a while back. Bought the original trilogy but still haven't watched them.
If you haven't yet watched the 1997 Special Edition or 2004 rerelease, just throw your discs in the trash and relive the movie in your head.
If you need a comprehensive list, well, this should cover it.

I actually burned these to blurays, printed up nice cover art, put them in cases, and gave them to my brother for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's the only way I watch the OT now and it's how I showed both of my kids. They've never seen the Special Editions.

Thanks for the heads up. Just bought them for $47.

Even MORE shite was changed when they were released on BR in 2011.
Thankfully, I have the 2006 Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back DVDs that came with the original theatrical versions (even if they aren't anamorphic widescreen).

I got the whole OT when the 2006 editions came out, even when I was the brokest of broke college students. Worth it, even with the bad aspect ratios and shite laserdisc scan.

I passed on ROTJ. People blame TPM for ruining SW but the former did it first.
