quote:Flake didn’t change his mind. He voted for the committee motion today to approve Kavanaugh’s nomination and send it to the full senate for a vote.
Why is Fox News saying it was the protestors that changed Flake’s mind?
Mission accomplished.
All Flake did was say during a point of personal privilege that he would be comfortable and to “help bring the country together,” if before the whole senate voted on the nomination a “limited in scope investigation by the FBI not to exceed one week” would be held. It wasn’t a motion and Flake didn’t issue an ultimatum.
Lindsay Graham and Grassley told him it was not up to the committee to tell the senate leadership when to hold a vote.

Flake made it clear this was not his final vote. Said it himself. He desperately wants the FBI to say “all clear” first.
