As City Park has developed, it is really becoming a recreational activity center with high traffic. The tennis facility improvement have been a tremendous success. The new croquet field next to the courts will offer something for children, seniors, or others enjoying a leisurely outdoor activity (particularly from the surrounding neighborhood. The dog park and revised play ground are always crowded, while the walking path and open areas encourage walking, jogging, exercise classes, etc. The golf course enables casual golf for beginners or people out for fun. These all seem to go hand in hand.

It would be somewhat disappointing if these were somehow realigned into a civic center park of sorts where people just hang out. The golf helps keep active, healthy people there on site through out the day. Tennis is busy at night. Any shady characters are greatly out-numbered by legitimate people. Turn this into simply a glorified gathering place, and I doubt the area stays as vibrant around the clock.

You are also forgetting they added foot golf to the course. Lots of young guys out there drinking beer kicking a soccer ball around.

I had one group clear out of my way while I made my approach shot on 7. As I struck the ball ball they yelled in unison, "Get in the Hole!!!!" and cheered rauchously for me as I landed very close to the pin.

I'd love for them to add disc golf to the course
