great idea, and this might be a dumb quesiton, but would you have to let them know ahead of time? Like are you allowed to just show up at the police station parking lot and transact business? I'm sure they're happy you chose to do it there for safety reasons but if someone is just peeping out the window and sees 2 cars pull up and a cash deal happen idk if they would be concerned about that?

Also, a criminal is likely to turn down the offer to meet at a police station.

The lot isn’t physically monitored by a cop, but it has cameras (from what I understand). And criminals are less likely to meet you there.

If you do, they can bail early and save you the trouble. If you don't, they can do a drive-by and just no-show. That is if the intentions of the seller are to rob you.
