Im unsure if it is a scam. How many spark plugs are required? How much work is required to change them? Do the turbos have to be removed? Electronics disassembled? How many quarts of oil? What kind of brake fluid? How much?
It's an open ended statment. Yes dealships are more expensive, that isn't a secret.

Once the car's warranty expires, the only reason it goes back to the dealer service department is for recall work.
