Complaining about LSU beating Louisiana Tech in the way they did is just being an infernal gripe, which I am not.

Thomas Williams - Developing a college football team is an uncertain work of art in progress because the people playing the game are still young men. So, of course, I am still very thrilled that our LSU football team is still undefeated after the first four college football game against the very good college football team that they have already played. Why should I feel blue because they are not like the pro football players when I totally recognize that this is still a college sport and not professional football players playing for money.

So believe me when I am telling you that I am just as happy about Ed Oregon 2018 LSU football team just as much as I did before the 38 to 21 LSU victory over Louisiana Tech.

Complaining about LSU beating Louisiana Tech in the way they did is just being an infernal gripe, which I am not.

the problem is that we have to compare our production and results to Alabama, who hasn't had a game like this

Or it's recognition that playing that is not playing to a championship standard

It's just annoying to see LSU constantly play these games - and it isn't just an O thing. LSU played half-assed under Miles as well (see Troy, Tulane, Louisiana Tech).

Also, considering last season's Troy embarrassment, LSU fan's have a reason to "gripe" when we up a mere field goal against Louisiana Tech in the second half.

No, we're concerned because we play much better teams later this season and this kind of performance won't get it done.

4-0 is nice, but remember we started 2015 7-0 but we had concerns about our offense. Then when we hit the meat of our schedule, we lost 3 straight, each by double digits.

This season looks eerily familiar (without having Fournette in the backfield, however).

It’s all about your expectations as a fan. Do you want LSU to complete for the playoffs year in and year out? If so, you must compare us to the top 2 or 3 in terms of talent, coaching, and execution. In my opinion we are woefully lacking on at least 2 of those 3 compared to Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson.

If your expectation as a fan is that we win most, lose a few, and get a chance to play late December to a similar mid level Big 10 school in a bowl sponsored by a fast food chain, we’ll go ahead and high 5 each other because we’re in great shape.

The problem is we have yet to play a complete game and it will take complete games to even have a chance of winning the West.

LSU has had 2 stinker wins...out of 4 games

Eventually it's a trend

If the HC wasn't happy with the way we played....why is it not ok for fans to voice concerns with what we saw last night and against SLU.

Coach O says “we won the game, but it wasn’t good enough. We’re not happy.”
"We can't play like that and expect to win in the SEC," a relieved but concerned LSU coach Ed Orgeron said. "We up 24-0. We've got to smell blood in the water and go get it. You put your hands down, you're going to get hit in the face.“

Time to get that killer instinct ASAP.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't one of the big complaints against Miles the way that his teams played up or down to the level of competition?

I haven't made a single post about LaTech and won't. But the narrative after this game and the SEL game seems to be yet another instance of moving goal posts and lowered expectations for a coach that these people like vs the way they evaluated one they didn't like.

I wouldn’t overreact snd jump off a cliff

But this program over the past 6 or so years has the reputation of playing to the level of competition, next week tigers win big but will play conservative against rice.

Also tech did have a bye week so that makes it harder for Aranda to implement a picture perfect shutout

I can see it both ways, but it he first paragraph is most concerning to me

I still hate we didn't go after Kendal Briles. He is lighting it up at Houston.

They have the #2 total offense and #4 scoring offense. They've played two power 5 teams and put up 45 and 49 points against them.

Last year Houston was ranked 40th in total offense and 65th in scoring offense.

In 2017, their 2018 starting QB started 5 games (playing zero power 5 teams). He passed for 1240 yards and 6 TDs (64.7% 9.1 ypa) to 2 ints and rushed for 330 and 5 TDs. In four games this year he has passed for 1200 yards 15 TDs to 1 int (62.7% 8.9 ypa), with 107 yards and 5 TDs rushing. He's played 2 power 5 teams and totaled 677 passing yards 9 TDs 0 ints and 78 rush yards 3 TDs.

He had 12 total TDs in those two games, LSU has 13 total offensive TDs for the ENTIRE TEAM for the ENTIRE YEAR! People do realize that we can't sustain winning like this when we play guys like Bama and UGA right? I know people are now acting like LSU will beat UGA, but how is that? We gave up 17 to Miami and 22 to Auburn. We'll need 30+ to beat UGA. LSU's offense isn't even a blip on Mizzu's radar, and they only scored 29.

People don't complain about victory. They complain about performance.
