Does that principal have a right to detain that child? Or prevent that child from calling parents? Or putting his or her hands on said child to prevent said child from leaving?

Best to tell your child to say I am saying nothing, I am contacting my parents and I am out of here.

Probably and if your kids won’t speak to them without you there, they can be punished for that choice but it’s better than them saying something that gets brought up in court later.

According to all the legal precedent I can find? Yes. And not only do they have the right to do that, they are indemnified for any lawsuits concerning it, they do not have to adhere to Miranda, and they can use any information gained as evidence in court.

That is a gross and unquestionable vilaltion of Due Process and how it became precedent is very confusing to me. I will research further.
