I never played football growing up, but I remember tee ball and soccer being 5-6 years old for the first league. Basketball was 6, 7, and 8. I always assumed that was because most 5 year olds couldn't play basketball. I'm pretty surprised that football has a 5 year old option. I would have assumed the youngest age was 7 years old.
