It’s cool you pull for Tech. Don’t get me wrong Tech is a nice directional school that’s a great option for people who can’t get into a real university. For some I guess it’s more appealing than enlisting in the military.

Explain how tech is a “directional school”. I really would like to hear this one.

You started with stuff like this:
quote:

We do not aspire to be LSU, but do aspire to be the best we can be.

quote:

Before any of you start saying BOO HOO and such and thinking we are envious, you couldn't be further from the truth. We are proud of who we are and work diligently to do our mission. If there was ever an issue of penis envy, look no further than your envy of Alabama.

But then went to this analogy:
quote:

La Tech is to LSU as LSU is to Alabama.

Sounds like you're confused and just admitted you're envious of LSU while trying to throw Alabama's success, both overall and against LSU, in our faces.

What “direction” is LA Tech? It’s not like they’re fricking Northwestern or Southeastern. Aren’t they the only other tier 2 university in this state? You sound like an a-hole.

Well Bama won't play us anymore because we beat them twice in a row. [I'm obviously just messing with you]

If I were Tech's scheduling folks, I wouldn't want to schedule Bama. As it stands currently, Tech has an overall winning record over the Tide, something most schools can't claim.

Truth. That and I don't like them playing the LSU's and Alabama's of the world because of injury concerns leaving those games. I like us playing the Illinois, Texas Tech, NC State, Kansas & Virginia types far more.

1. We can hang with those teams
2. We don't lose 3-4 guys for extended time from injuries just to get a pay day [which we can get with the lower tier P5 as well]

Truth is at end of day when you're overmatched as Tech is in this game, you just want to get out healthy because Conference title is what you want, not just 1 random victory. Just my 2 cents.

Tech msg board couldnt be more lame. Probly cause majority of students up there don't follow tech athletics. At one time women's BB drew more attention than the male sports.

It is a pretty decent school though, depending on the college. Maybe 2nd or 3rd best in state after Tulane and Loyola. Again, depending on the college. No university is best in everything. Hardest thing to get used to in Ruston is men in coats and ties with baseball caps. Worse now since flat bills came out.

Well damn, as I said before, my kid is a junior at Tech. He tells me 90% of the students there are LSU fans. Several sport purple and gold on the Tech campus with zero blowback. Then, I look at the freaks on that message board? Apparently there’s a few Bulldog faithful that hate LSU. Kinda surprises me. Glad my kid and his Tech friends realize it’s Junior High Ball compared to Elite D1. Some of those folks are living in the Twighlight Zone.

Ive only known a couple LSU fans. Never associated with the frats, maybe they are more like that than the typical students. The one guy who I knew who would openly pick LSU over Tech if he had to choose transferred after the first year. Knew one last year who cheered for Georgia, oddly... he also transferred. If you get into the spirit teams (mostly band here), those guys don’t seem to care about LSU, and if one were to be cheering for LSU this weekend they’d probably get sh#t on. The OOS students don’t care about LSU unless maybe they were raised to. Catholic leaning folks have Notre Dame which they generally place with Tech, above LSU. My roomate is from the BR area and he has a couple LSU things, but he is definitely going to the game in Blue and Red, as he should.

The experience all depends on your company.

Not dissing Tech, they had some great teams in the day. Denny Duron? Or before, too lazy too research. What I got is that you think tech is a missed tackle or a completed pass away from being in consideration for an invite to the grownup table. Again, I like tech, but that ain’t never happening.

I will always love Tech football simply for the reason they took out Auburn's kicker one time. It was glorious! And that is worthy of all time respect right there. frick Auburn.

A little fun fact, Louisiana Tech has 3 players in the pro football hall of fame... Grambling has 4!

Said this before, but this board is so intuitively programmed/user friendly that none other that I have visited even compare.

Dumb as frick. Lol.

I've been on this site a lot. In state schools should pull for each other. If LSU is tops in the SEC and LA Tech is tops in the WAC it's a good year for me.

Sure there are a few dickheads. Every site has them. You can't blame fans on either side that bleed for their school.

And Chicken has a really good set up with this board. Very easy to read, post and navigate.

The ULL fans won't like this but you only have three tier one schools in the state: us, La Tech, and Tulane.

And any view of recent Bowl history shows only La Tech and us with success. Let alone appearances...

And La Tech has given us the only remotely competitive game since we started the in-state school matchups. 8 point game 6-7 years ago I think?

Net effect: flagship status is not a question for LSU but La Tech is clearly the runner up. Can't see any debate about this.

Have you guys actually read any of their board? They're delusional little bitches and talk a ton of shite.

I honestly used to like Tech like a little brother. We need to bitch slap them back to reality this weekend.

quote:

We have the talent to go toe to toe with LA State for the most part. The only thing I'm concerned about is our TEAM LEADERSHIP.

quote:

LSU is MUCH better than Ark.

IMO, that's the one thing we are NOT sure of. We've been repeatedly told by the media and LA Tech fans living in Louisiana that LSU is good. But I'm sure UNT was told the same thing about Arkansas prior to yesterday.

Beating a poor Miami team by only 16 points, and whipping an FCS team (SE LA) by 31 points at home, doesn't necessarily mean LSU is "good". Sure, the win over Auburn APPEARS to be huge right now, but it was only by 1 point. Frankly, I thought that game was boring. Good lord, Auburn only put up 354 yds of offense, and LSU 363.

So, we're still not even sure how good Auburn is this year. What we do know is, to date, Auburn has beaten Washington at home by 4 points, steamrolled a Div II Alabama State 62-9, and lost to LSU.
Apparently he didn't know where the Washington vs Auburn game was.

That's the same poster on their board that has our pass attempts at 25 vs Auburn. Joe threw it 34 times. Dudes just over there making shite up.
