Any suggestions for food? Breweries?
Heading up there with three other couples that weekend, but want to make sure we hit the good spots and are able to watch some football on Saturday. We don't really have an agenda at this point other than golf at Hound Ears on Saturday morning.

That appears to be App State's Homecoming weekend. Good Luck! I was there a few years back during homecoming and it's packed everywhere you go. Not just Boone but Banner Elk and Blowing Rock too.
The Gamekeeper is popular. You'll need reservations. Appalachain Brewing in Boone has really good beer.

Casa Rustica in Boone is my favorite place to eat. If you are looking to play golf you might want to give Redtail Mountain across the state line in Mountain City TN a shot. I haven't been there since the new management several years back but it was a beautiful/fun course.
If it is overly crowded for homecoming just head to Banner Elk. I try to make it to Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain everytime I am up that way.
