During Hurricane Charley the news stations were broadcasting on the local radio stations. I had no power but was able to listen to the updates.

Same happened last year with Irma.

THIS. I can’t remember which of the Toms it was. I want to say WESH but it was the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympics (which we watched until the power flickered off.) Parts of the area didn’t get hit with the outage. UCF/Sanford/Deltona were all on the business side of that hurricane. We spent the next 3 days at hotels close to LBV.
