What is acceptable?

What is an acceptable record for this season? Considering that we used to consistently be Top 5 in recruiting, now we seem to be limping along from 6-15. We replaced the winningest head coach in school history with the GOAT interim head coach, that doesn't seem to do quite as well when it's his full time gig.

I am an LSU fan, but more importantly I am a realist, and I think that the Golden Age of Tiger football is getting farther and farther in the rearview mirror. The worst part is that I don't know how this will get fixed! What I saw on Saturday was extremely troubling. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see any possible way that we can beat Auburn on Saturday, other than Greedy turning into the Honey Badger and scoring 21 points on picks and fumble recoveries.

Someone please explain to me how they can look at our team and honestly say that we are on the same level as Georgia and the Gumps.

Acceptable to whom? This board, 10+ wins. The LSU admin will most likely need to see 8 wins, and an improved offense.

Pretty much. 10 wins is a season in which you're not happy with the losses as they come, but you look back and say "good season" when the dust settles. Of course with the expectation that you are in the hunt every year.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this team isn't winning 10 games. I'm not saying that shouldn't be the expectation but Georgia and Bama are on a whole other level than LSU is right now.

I also think Moo State, Auburn and A&M are better teams than us this year too.

Well, in the 15 full seasons before O took over, LSU won 5 division titles, 4 SEC titles, 2 national titles and played for a third.

So I’d say the minimal acceptable standard would be AT LEAST an SECw title every 3 years.

O doesn’t look like he’s close to getting there.

The Miami game proved that this team is as talented as anyone in the country.

I would have been ok with 8-4 or 9-3 if O would have made a run next year but when he decided to fire his hand picked OC and hire his buddy he went into “win right the frick now” mode.

He gets no leash.

In all reality Alleva isn’t going to fire him. The board is letting Allevas contract expire next summer and the new AD will decide whether or not to keep O in 19.

Reality of the situation.

Unless he goes 7-5 or worse. Then you have to cut bait before he continues to deteriorate the program.

He really put his neck on the line when he hired E and now they’re ranked 114 in offense. I’m pretty sure Maryland is 27.

improved offense
. Well you are not getting that. So far this offense is on a pace to be historically bad by LSU standards. I read somewhere that LSU has 3 yards passing in the second half and is ranked 112th in total offense.
