Sorry if this has been discussed, but are custom made shoes worth it? If so, any quality mail order custom sites? Thank you

Custom orthotics? I have no experience but I’m sure someone here does. Probably better to go that route instead of the stability shoe route.

I’m looking to run 2-3 trail races in LA/MS this winter. I read that the Pegasus doesn’t have much of a toe bumper or a rock plate. Are those generally preferable around here, or are those features for rockier terrains? Also, do y’all see this price drop as permanent? Sorry for the newbie questions. I’ve never bought trail shoes, and I’ve only run one trail race. This is outside of my comfort zone. ??

Not familiar with trail shoes, but I do believe the Peg trail is a more mild trail shoe. I’ve seen the new Wildhorse 6 on sale already, looks good, gets good reviews, has a rock plate. Probably worth looking into brands outside of Nike for trail shoes. Nike makes good ones, but brands like Salomon, Hoka, Inov-8 probably do them better.

Peg Trail is probably suffice for running in LA though, and price drop should be permanent. The Peg 37 just released, so a Peg 37 Trail is probably coming very soon.

Decided to exchange my Rincon's for a pair of Pegasus 37, will report back when I can test them (probably not until Sunday).

I also ordered another pair of Zoom Fly 3 to replace a deteriorating pair of ZFFK.

Thanks for the tips!

I really want to go somewhere and try on a few pair. The Brooks Divide caught my eye because of the price point ($100) and the reviews, but I feel like I need to try them and some competitors out. I don’t think anywhere local has them though.
