My Choc is 10 yrs old and so far he is fine both his parents lived to 14 and 15 and never had a prob so guess i got lucky

I’ve had 4 labs, 2 black, 2 chocolate. One chocolate developed it and neither parent had it.

Lot of good things to help. Watch the dogs weight, exercise, specifically swimming. Cortisone shots, anti inflammatory drugs, pain killers and more extreme hip replacement.

Get a good vet to diagnose and develop a regimen then follow it.
