This early in the season, ESPN's FPI is just fancy statistical guesswork. There have not been enough actual games to get meaningful data to determine each team's true strength. It takes at least until October before they have enough data to even be close.
I wouldn't worry about what it says now.

Those "computer model predictions" are usually pretty sketchy for the first few weeks of the season, for sure....after 5-6 weeks, they get a lot better and more accurate & reliable.
Hey, they said we didn't have much of a chance to beat Auburn last year, either, though, right?
