Hindsight is 20/20 vision isn't it. But after 6-10 NY Jets, it was, yikes are you kidding me.

Don’t compare him to Pete Carroll. Please just don’t.
Do you want to compare him to Bill Belichik who was 36-44 with an owner that wouldn't pay to upgrade his roster while looking to move out of Cleveland.
Les Miles was 28-21 at OSU and and 114-34 at LSU.
Or how about Nick Saban who was 34-24-1 at MSU and 15-17 in the NFL and 132-20 at Alabama with top recruiting classes year in and year out.
Funny how coaches are average when there is parity, suck when there players aren't as good and become better when they have a distinct talent advantage.
The perfect example is Chuck Fairbanks He was was 52-15-1 at Oklahoma with 3 Big 8 Championships in 6 seasons at Oklahoma (1967-1792). That landed him the New England Patriots HC in the NFL where parity is king. He was a pedestrian 46-39 in 6 seasons there. Then he returned to the Big 8 where he went 7-26 in 3 seasons because he didn't have the horses to compete with Misouri and Kansas more less Nebraska and Oklahoma.
