So we know all the news on the analysts brought in especially after O found out how prepared Bama was last year on preparing against LSU. How much of an impact do you think they will have on this season???

O mentioned yesterday that the analyst already scouted and prepared 3 different game plans for Miami. This is a huge advantage from what we’ve seen in the past.

Sounds good on the surface, I guess.

Not necessarily. What if all three gameplans are shitty? What if they struggle to install even one of them. Or worse, they try to install multiple and it's a clusterfrick.

The separate game plans are more so to have pre-made adjustments depending on what Miami comes out doing..........in the past we came out with ONE game plan, then scrambled at 1/2 time to throw something different together.

That’s changed for the better, I see no negatives with it

I'm just saying, it's not automatic that the analysts have a positive impact. Even if they're the greatest analysts in football history, they still report to the head coach.

We could essentially be showing Infinity War on a 13 inch black and white Sanyo.

Do most teams have analysts now, or is it only bigger programs?

This is for SOME of the defensive analysts per Dave Aranda.

quote:

Great group of analysts. Opponent scouts and "self" scouts have been putting in a lot of time to get game plans started, identifications of opponents schemes and concepts.

The analysts have been great. He looks at Kevin Coyle - he had been in the NFL for a long time. Has been a coordinator in the NFL. When Aranda was coming up at Cal Lutheran he would go visit Coyle at Fresno State. He would learn quarter's coverage and SAM (strong safety) blitzes. When at Hawaii Dave would visit him with the Cincinnati Bengals. Awesome to have his eyes on things and get his input on how he sees opponents, play callers, schemes and get input on LSU's scheme on which technique to use.

Mark Criner is another analyst - has known him as since Dave's days at Utah St. Busch and Dave were both at Ut St and Mark was at Louisiana Tech. Talked to him on the phone back then. Mark always gave the detail of the opponent, as well as what they are trying to do, this is who they are, this is their personality, this is their signals. When the position came up he was someone he wanted to talk to

Aaron Schwanz was with Dave at Wisconsin. He has a knack for finding tendencies and new ways. Studies the SEC and NFL. finding how people playing it differently, picks up on and points out what has hurt people in the past.

Radio guy: 5-star to 3-star recruits have all mentioned Bill Busch.
