Does he make it or are we too stacked there?
I love the guy's play and smarts.

I think if we keep six then he will.

I think

Thomas
Meredith
Ginn
Smith

are you gimme's

Then you have

Tate
Lewis
Carr

Tate seems to have an inside track because of special teams. If we keep six then I think that Carr has done enough to over take Lewis.

Well, we invested in him. Plus he will be given some wiggle room since he is just now starting to work his way back into game shape/condition.

We can't cut him this year b/c of the dead money. Next year would be MUCH easier to cut him. His contract makes him a lock in 2018.

2018 cap hit - 2.7 mil
2018 dead cap hit - 5.45 mil

2019 cap hit - 6.8 mil
2019 dead cap hit - 2.75 mil

Meredith will be fine.

Smith and Thomas are the studs.

Ginn is the perfect backend receiver for the group. Can be a number two is asked to. But very good in the number three of four role.

I like Carr. He brings back some of what we lost with Snead.

Lewis has to be the odd man out. Ginn and Smith do what he does but better.

I agree with this. Tate is probably going to be our #1 returner, so he gets that #5 spot by default.

I'd much rather Carr than Tommylee Lewis for the #6 spot. Tommylee is good for big chunk plays every now and then, but Carr is a MUCH MORE polished WR. Carr is easily a better blocker, easily has better hands, & I'm assuming he runs much better routes as well. Carr is also taller than 5'7".

The only other options are Michael Floyd & Keith Kirkwood. Floyd has looked like shite...do not want him. Kirkwood seems destined for the PS imo.

they could go Meredith to IR w designation to return, that would allow them to keep one more, somebody, defer that decision til later, and someone may get hurt

I think Meredith needs some more time

the dude is smart(philosophy degree from northwestern), can catch, knows the system, can sing the National Anthem. It would be a mistake to release him.
