One of my financial advisors told me back when he was 10 or 12 years old he could go in a store and purchase a pack of cigarettes

When I was 10, my 16 year old brother would give me money every day to ride my bike to the corner store and buy him cigarettes and candy for myself. It got to the point where the guy behind the counter would pull a pack of Marlboro for me as I walked up to the counter.

I go in there with my mom one day, and as we approach the counter he puts a pack of Marlboro in front of us. She tells him she didn't ask for cigarettes, he gives me a look and pulls the pack back.

After that I'd ride my bike an extra three blocks to go to a different store.
