Obviously I'd rather 7.5/year for Jimbo but that wasn't the deal that got him to College Station.

I'd slightly rather O and Ensminger at 5.4/year than 10 years with or without Jimbo for 75 mil.

The only issue with that trade off is the fact that those werent anywhere near the only two options.
With the Flecks, Kiffins even Arandas out there you shouldn't settle for a proven loser at a university like LSU. But apparently that's Alleva's M.O.
An "experiment" with an unknown commodity like Aranda at HC is a much better move (IMO) than hiring a proven loser for cheap. If recruiting/continuity was the big selling point - you're probably even better off with bringing Frank Wilson back for a shot.

I wasn't really aware of Alleva's history (minus the lacrosse debacle) at Duke. 13 wins in nine years? It's laughably tragic that he is still employed at this level. But no wonder he hired Orgeron. He was probably the only option with a record worse than his own.
