Always glad to tip my hat to someone in my cohort. I vaguely remember FDR but mostly for his death. Grew up with Truman as my only real knowing reference for POTUS.

I remember hearing the old folks talk about Truman's re-election in '48 - someone (I think it was Bob Hope) had sent him a telegraph that said = "Unpack"

I remember thinking that someone could get in real trouble making jokes about the POTUS!!!!
