A cursory look and I am reading murders are few and random, the policy to give land back has been around for over a decade and hasn't really transformed much, and the national concern was recently water shortages.

Is this just folks listening to talking heads and special interest groups and reacting way too heavy to it?

A remuneration policy has been around, but it's been more of an incentive for white landowners to sell to black buyers at market value rather than straight confiscation, which is what Malema and his crowd are trying to push.

Murders of white farmers has been an issue since the 1990's, but the extent and impact is hotly disputed.

There are some Boer farmer political groups that are really pushing this, but Malema and his faction of the former ANC are really pushing the whole situation into overdrive. He is a lunatic and isn't too far from Beer Hall Putsch-style language at this point.

I think what people should be concerned about is if people like Malema continue to gain power there, a civil war is a possible outcome.
