Well, Trump isn't so hot on Mattis any longer, it appears. Hasn't fired him. Took Trump forever to fire the former head of the VA. Also took him a while to part ways with the former SecState.

In the end, none of us have concrete information on motives, regarding why Trump hasn't done anything. The only thing we have, that is concrete, is the complete cowardice displayed by Jeff Sessions, and the extremely negative impact he's had on the Trump agenda. He has been the single biggest enabler of the ongoing coup attempt, since the inauguration.

And, as we see with each new revelation, the information to burn the bad actors to the ground has been out there forever. There is no added benefit to handing people more rope, in the hopes they hang themselves with it. At some point, you give them so much that they simply lower themselves to the ground and run away.
