I'm talking about a job that requires experience and a certain amount of attained skill and knowledge on the job. They may not fire you right away, but they will definitely know and start figuring out how to replace you without compromising production at the moment. Like the OP said, someone who can barely hang as an accountant bullshits his way into a CFO position. Or someone getting an superintendent position but has the real knowledge of a journeyman helper. Everyone around you will know you bullshitted your way to the top or know one of the bosses, etc.
