I bought my son the exact same rifle. I put a leupold scope on it and both of us love it. I shoot a 30-06, but wouldn’t hesitate taking his rifle on a hunt. It’s a nice gun and caliber.

And I agree 100% on the accu trigger. Savage sells a cheaper version of the axis without that trigger and I wouldn’t go that route. Spend the little extra and get the accu trigger.
