I have not lived there in many years, but loved it when I did. I lived in the St Andrews area (I-20 / I 26).

When I lived there, clubs closed at midnight, but had PRIVATE CLUBS that stayed open till 5....not even a membership fee.

I would compare Columbia to Mobile. AL and BR. ..
more towards BR because of the University.
But beautiful area with hills (plenty of place for speed traps) specially Hwy. 277. Get a place w a Fireplace, occasionally it will freeze up for a week and power can fail


A little more spread out in the areas of interest.
A 2:45 min hour drive to Myrtle Beach about 2:00 hrs to Charleston.

Get used to:
Beach Music is not the Beach Boys but more R-B and Carolina coast
USC is not USC Calif but University of So. Carolina
Dancing = Shag
Geaux Cups do not exist.
