Originally I was worried about it but I think there's no need to rush him back because we seem to actually have depth at that position unlike before. Okafor and Hendrickson are going to get the majority of snaps opposite from Cam this season to start out with. Let the rookie be a situational pass rusher until he figures things out.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Danielle Hunter was a starter his rookie year. Dude was super talented but raw much like Davenport is.

There was never a need to rush him either way.
He needs the reps, but aggravating it is going to set him back into the season.
