When I was in college me and my best friend worked together, I had driven him to work that evening because it was snowing and I had 4x4. On the way home around midnight it is still snowing and the interstate is covered. We come up on a corner and can see tire marks leading into the middle barrier and then back across all three lanes to the guard rail where a busted car is now sitting partially sticking out in the far right lane. As we finish rounding the curve and past the crashed car I see a guy walking down the shoulder towards the nearest exit about a mile away. Without really thinking I tell my friend let's pick him up and take him to where he needs to go. Keep in mind this stretch of interstate isn't in the best part of town. So I pull up next to him and tell him to get in, he says thanks and hops in the passenger seat and my friends gets in the backseat behind him. As soon as he gets in the whole truck smells like alcohol and he starts rambling on how it's not his car but he just put new tires on it and hopes they aren't ruined. I quickly realize my mistake and ask him if he wants us to drive him home. He says no just drop me off at the store at the nearest exit because they have a phone. As we get off the exit and he points me in the direction he wants us to drop him off I see it's a combined fried chicken and liquor store. So drop him off at the entrance and he slurs out a thanks man and we go our separate ways. I turn around and look at my friend and he has a wtf look on his face and I see he has his knife out just in case he tried anything. We both concluded that we were probably accessories to atleast a few crimes that night.

Saw this thread and had to bump.

In college, me and two guys from our dorm would drive around smoking bowls. We were on the outskirts of town and saw this homeless man and started laughing about picking him up and giving him a ride to the next town. Pulled over and asked "hey bro you wanna smoke a bowl" "hell yeah motherfrickers" He hopped in and got so baked he couldn't even talk. I can't imagine if he had ever smoked weed that good

One time me and a couple of buddies of mine were driving from a baptism to Tishomingo, Mississippi and picked up a hitchhiker. Turned out to be a young black guy named Tommy Johnson and carried a guitar with him. He told us that he was on his way to Tishomingo to record a song at WEZY. Then things took a weird turn. Tommy told us he had sold his soul to the devil in exchange for the ability to play the guitar real good. Well, we ended up at the radio station to discover it was run by a blind guy. We joined Tommy in the song, recorded it, and got paid $10 a piece. I feel kind of bad about it now, because I scammed the blind guy. I told him there were six of us in the band, when there were really only four, so we got an extra twenty bucks.

Tommy parted ways with us soon after that. We saw him later at a Ku Klux Klan rally, but that's another story for another time.

I stopped to pick up a hitchhiker earlier today. He asked me if I was worried about possibly picking up a serial killer.

I just said, "No, not at all. I mean... what are the odds of there being two serial killers in the same car at the same time?"

I don't know why, but he said he forgot something and had to go back the other way. He got out before I could even put the car in drive.

Strange fellow.
