Of course, we could change our military approach to the IBFreeman School of Chronic Capitulation. As in your approach to the trade war, simply deny existence of provoking hostilities and accept the consequences of war the other side waged against us.

Had we used that philosophy previously, we'd have never entered WWII. Hawaii would belong to the Japanese. You'd apparently be much happier, and as a Euroasian surrogate, we'd probably have no need for a space defense.
