Fulton Waiver Situation

The way it was explained to me is that there is an opportunity for a lawsuit to be filed by Fulton and his family. Again, a lawyer on the board may be able to figure out what it is, because I had been told legal action wouldn't work against the NCAA. However, if they are able to go ahead with said legal action, a waiver could be submitted that would allow him to play while the lawsuit was active, and remain playing until the matter was settled in court. I think it is a longshot at best at this point, but per his lawyer, it is an avenue they plan to explore.

He isn’t playing his year. Any legal appeal won’t be heard for months. By the time it’s heard and ruled on, its March. Sit the year, play one, go pro

We get it. It’s probably a long shot but if I’m Fulton I’m not just going to roll over if I know there are other options. It’s a big deal for this kid. Not being able to play football for two years could cost him a lot.

i think his punishment is overly harsh and i think it's a damn shame the NCAA doesn't have more common sense and frankly, more empathy. that said, at this point as hard as it must feel for him - i hope he just keeps grinding and understands what an incredible future he has.
that, and $^#& that committee. bunch of jerks

Does anyone on this board remember when Wally English coached at Tulane and he wanted his son to play for Tulane. Jon English was his son and QB at Tulane. He filed suit against the NCAA in court and his son was allowed to play about 5 or 6 games while the court decided the matter. The courts ultimately sided with the NCAA but during the time Tulane won about 4 or 5 games out of the 6 with Jon English at the helm. Tulane did not have to forfeit, did not have to vacate wins etc . Jon just was ruled that he could not play. I would assume this could be done with Fulton and is what the Op is saying.

Time for Fulton to man up and own his penalty, society needs to quit bailing these young men out. If he’s worth his salt, he’ll come back and be a player for LSU. Next man up.

Will he be eligible to play in the National Championship game?
