Weather permitting I plan on fishing Big Lake this weekend. Has the trout bite improved? Are there any trout in the north part of the lake?

Hit and miss. Fortunately it has been more hit as of late. Heard decent reports out of west cove and the south end of the lake but my buddy said he has had trouble consistently finding fish. Reds are easy to find in the ship channel.

The bite is better than it has been, but still hit or miss.

Just talked to my buddy who guides. He usually throws artificial but says shrimp is hard to beat right now. Top water in the morning if the wind isn't too bad.

I hope to make it out to Big Lake this weekend... I caught a few decent reds under the 210 bridge about 3 months ago but don't want to make it that far north. Any good trout spots in Big Lake or thereabouts?

I have caught some decent fish near crab lady in the spring. I haven't been out in the yak since then due to the heat (maybe I'm just a coward). Going out on Big Lake this weekend and looking for some decent spots.

Kayak out at crab lady, boat for under 210 and likely boat this weekend.

I'd go south. It seems to be a bit more consistent down there. The water should be pretty.

Inside/Outside on east jettys or west side of ship channel north (sw@7-11) and incoming tide predicted a.m.

Like Crawfish said, it's more consistent further south. If you want to stay in the northern part of the lake, I suggest giving Turner's bay a look.
