1 sound bar for 2 tvs

I have two outdoor tvs next to each other. I would like to connect one sound bar to both of them (one hdmi, the other optical). I've tried a couple of sound bars, but they just get confused by being connected to two tvs. Any advice? I'm looked at the sonos outdoor system and its $800 ($400 off) at Best Buy. Think that will work, but was hoping to spent about $300. Thx

Are the TVs playing the same thing? Why do you need to connect both TVs?
Just trying to understand your needs.

Mainly watch sports outside. Particularly 2 football games at same time. Would like to quickly/easily be able to change the sound for one tv to the next.

Maybe try an optical splitter?
One solution would be to buy two of the same model soundbars then mute one while the other is playing. Then when you hit mute on the remote it should switch them. If you don’t need anything fancy you could get two for $300. Just scanned amazon and you could get 2 Yamaha yas107 from amazon warehouse deals for under $300.

Don't think the splitter would work. The sound bar wouldn't know which signal to pick up. Think you are right and will need to get two sound bars. Thx for suggestion.

One optical, one HDMI
When you want the new sound, change the input ..Not sure why this wouldn't work, sometimes my kids blutooth to my soundbar while I'm not really concerned with the TV sound

Tried that. Doesn't work. It automatically goes to hdmi arc. I was thinking it would be that easy too. I can switch to Bluetooth without a problem, but not tvs. Apparently there is a default.

I wonder if there is a splitter with a switch like an old school speaker selector. Then you could just hit a button on the switch to swap back and forth.

weird..
I know that doesn't help, but my situation was the best I could think for you where I use a similar setup

How about an HDMI splitter between the TVs and soundbar?

Klipsch soundbars allow you to choose the input. You'd need a TV with an HDMI out though because if you go through the soundbar you'll lose the image when you switch the input.

He mentioned using ARC already

I've tried Samsung and Sony. They let me change the input but get confused between optical and arc. (Maybe because they are both tv signals.). Will try those two also. Thx

tbh, the bar should not care where the sound is coming from as long as your select the one you want

Was thinking the same. Gonna buy another sound bar and try again this afternoon.

Get two Samsung soundbars. The remotes work for everything Samsung. So you can use just one remote to turn up both at the same time.

sounds like he wants two games, one bar

Exactly. He wants image on both and sound on whichever one he wants to hear.

Well then he can mute one and play the other when he wants to switch lol
