If Kobach wins, it will be because of undecideds that were moved by Trump endorsement.

Yep
I'm hoping Colyer wins. Better for the GOP IMO
Its ok, Trump won't be upset about it.

I wasn't going to vote today except that I was tired of the kc star hit pieces on kobach. I went out and voted for him because of that.

Trump has actually been endorsing a lot of incumbents, especially ones that are more establishment oriented to keep the rabble rousers out. Even endorsed Mitt Romney of all people.
Kobach is a big exception and it's pretty much repaying back the loyalty Kobach showed him in the 2016 campaign.
But as President and the leader of his party, it's his job to put his party in the very best position it can get to win elections, not repay back favors.

Trump had no business backing a horse in that race.

Hawley blew the field out in Missouri. I expected Peterson to give him some competition.

You're forgetting what the past three years have taught you. Time to tee up Art of the Deal

Why?
Because Democrats are not running a shitty candidate in that race like Hillary Clinton.
Because Kobach is basically a few notches below Joe Arpaio and way too risky of a bet for the GOP, especially in a state like Kansas where they got burnt out pretty bad on a republican Governor in Sam Brownback.

That there's only one Donald Trump and can only be one Donald Trump?

I voted for him. He was the only 1 of 7 choices on the 2nd page of the ballot. Hopefully that rotates but who knows.

Think of a possible JBE/Vitter scenario or Roy Moore/Doug Jones if you want to go that far.
I hope I'm wrong about Kobach as I actually agree with him a lot about immigration but I know I'm just one voter and I have to think about who has the best chance of winning and that's what I would be thinking if I was a Kansas voter.

Kansas will elect a republican.
Posted on 8/7/18 at 11:47 pm to LSU Patrick
It's still very close, but it's starting to look like kobach will pull this out. Kansas will be fine either way, though.

Big rule of politics is to never take any risk unless you're damn sure it will pay off.
Even then, Kobach is still going to need a shite ton of money and resources to get him over the top, in a red state of all places. And that is money and resources that could've been best used elsewhere.
Colyer would not have that problem and have an easier time winning the election.

No, that there is value in being as loyal as possible

That's not the President's job.
Especially when it comes to helping win elections for his party.
One big part of the President's job is to put his party in the very best position to succeed and win elections and yes, that even means not endorsing allies, former campaign aides who were loyal to you if their chances of winning the general are worse than their primary opponent.
Trump is a businessman and he should be seeking efficiency in this area.

This is an abstract that doesn't really mean anything. Who cares? This is the perfect theater to demonstrate the benefits of being very MAGA
