Some perspective on today’s news.

John Emery - There is a LONG way to go! Lots of insiders were told that he was leaning LSU. That isn’t only LSU insiders that’s for other teams too. He went to Georgia and was “WOW’ed” and committed. Let this one play out. Give the staff time to stay in Momma and Daddy’s ears. Let him come on his official visit to us. Jamar Chase 2.0. It AIN’T over by no means! Remember that’s a lot of money for them to shell out to travel to all his home games.
Kardell - he IS NOT going to tell one of the reporters for Noles247 anything negative about the trip. Of course he is going to say good things but he is solid to LSU.
Brooks - I very much think Vol is legit. He gets good info. But Brooks just tweeted a VERY pro LSU tweet the other day. IMO he is solid.
Lastly, this has been said time and time again but winning cures all! We win 10 games this year and we’ll have a top 10 class no doubt. Probably top 5!

I like your outlook on the news today. People tend to overreact about everything. Myself included.

Winning games translates to winning recruiting battles. No doubt there’s a lot on the line for LSU.

Correct it is the staffs job now to remind them how far their away games will be and how far away their home game are in Athens. Its pretty easy to sell 50 mins up I10.

What possible good for LSU comes out of Kardell saying they're 50/50 with FSU? He could just say he had a great time and leave it at that.
You guys seriously have your head in the sand. Not saying anything is definite but I hope our staff isn't taking a blase' attitude towards him like the fans are.

I just really have a hard time believing Emery sticks with Georgia unless the reports of him wanting to be "the guy" at RB were completely false. And that might be the case. But UGA's backfield is ridiculously loaded and it's going to be really crowded for the foreseeable future there.
If he's not afraid of the competition, which I honestly hope is the case, good for him and best of luck.

So theirs one contingency asking for patience with O and his tough 2018 schedule and another contingency suggesting winning in 2018 will minimize losing recruits...I believe in the latter but we can't have it both ways

We just need Cain to announce LSU now to ease our pain!

Recruiting is a war, not a battle. I think we’ll be ok, but today was certainly an avalanche of bad news.

My perspective is how long do you keep Tommy Robinson? He whiffs consistently, and as RC last cycle, has to be held accountable for the bungles at the end: slow playing Goodrich to get Foster, etc...

We should have made a play for Tony Hull when we had the chance.

There is a gaping hole in our recruiting staff since Frank departed...we just need hungry competent guys in the field for us

We simply have to outbid. It's what's cost us with Bama and now with UGA. Wait and see what transpires with Pruitt at Tenn.

I still think Cain is a Tiger, odds probably went up as I think LSU is Cain’s first choice and staff was waiting on Emery first. This wasn’t a spurt of the moment commit for Emery like some think.
"Me and Georgia been at it," Emery said. "Georgia was my first offer. Much love for Georgia. They utilize their backs. I feel like it would be a nice rotation. They lost Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, so they have Swift and Zamir. I think it would be just right if I went to Georgia."
Emery, the No. 31 overall prospect in the country, made multiple visits to Athens this spring and brought his family with him this time to commit.-247

This is the only reason in your mind that teams beat LSU for recruits?

Can’t wait to see this guy Hole Watching at Shell Norco while Rondell Mealy is in Safety Admin at Marathon. Leaving the state has its consequences.

Georgia doesn’t usually hand picking Louisiana recruits.
Especially not against LSU.
How the tide has turned
