Forgive my ignorance, I know enough about torrents to be dangerous and I have an IPT account. What does it do?

Gives you access to their 20GB lines in a data center. So you can seed your arse off and download at extremely high rates. And you don't have to leave torrents running on your computer; they're all running on their computer. You just FTP in and download when you want it on your computer. Keeps your IP totally clean for monitoring purposes. It's pretty sweet, but it's $20 a month. I figure that may be close to a wash considering the power to leave my computer running 24/7 to seed.
In my case I'm shooting to gain access to more trackers and to get internal 4k remuxes to download. So I'm paying to have a crazy ratio and increase my odds of getting in easier. Now I just have to wait for a few months.

So basically you're paying $20/mo for a server somewhere. Do you know where it is? I'm guessing not in the US.
You could probably also use it for VPN if you feel the server is in a secure location.

It's in the Netherlands. I think you're right that you can use it for a VPN but I got that year deal on PIA so I'm set for quite a while.

I always just pay money on the private torrent sites to get GBs so I don't have to seed. Way cheaper than $20/month

I like doing it the hard way. 
I think the next goal is to get into BeyondHD. PTP will just be way too hard and I'm not bothering with that ridiculous RED interview.

Purely out of curiosity, may I ask what it is that’s so worth torrenting? Every time I’ve used a torrent it was for music, a movie, or books - always something specific and I could never think of any content I wanted.

I'm gonna pass you in like a month son. Up to 188GB this morning in just 24 hours. Wasn't sure I'd hit my 4TB/month limit but at this rate I think I will. And I'm only using half of my HD space right now. I could push it more if I want.

No, they do have lots of stuff. The 4k is really lacking though. Not a lot of true 2160p HDR stuff. It's either 1600p or not HDR or something. From what I've read so far, BeyondHD has a very good internal remux group that rips things.
