Rockstar isn’t EA. EA was incredibly dumb by releasing DLC a few months after the game came out, splitting up the player base.
If Red Dead is anything like GTA 5, you don’t need any extra DLC unless you want to have a head start online.

i fully expect red dead to be a HUGE letdown because they are gonna spend so many more resources on the online part and that will make the single player/campaign a lot worse.
GTA makes so much money on Shark Cards they will want whatever the red dead equivalent is to sell a ton and will focus hard on making ways to incentivize buying them.
that being said, its still a day 1 purchase so u might as well preorder the version that comes with free credits
