Real Arse FC - Season Review



After finishing 6th last season, hopes were high for the club. The plan was for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to regain their top form and lead the club to a top 3 finish. Instead, they led the club on a disappointing road. Alexis Sanchez never regained form and missed months with injuries. Mesut Ozil was dropped from multiple matchday squads because you can't fit a square peg through a round hole. Just a mid-table club doing mid-table things.

Worst Draft Picks:
Romelu Lukaku (Round 1) - finished as the 17th best forward with 115 points total. Passed on Sergio Aguero (#1 foward) and Eden Hazard (#2 midfielder).
Alexis Sanchez (Round 2) - 46 points total, 816 minutes played all season
Mesut Ozil (Round 3) - 87 points total

Best Draft Picks:
Raul Jimenez (Round 12) - 9th most fantasy points with 177 total
Andrew Robertson (Round 5) - Highest scoring defender with 206 total
Ricardo Perira (Round 11) - 31st defender drafted, finished 10th in defender points at 135 total.
Lucas Digne (7th pick in Summer Supplemental Draft) - 7th best defender with 146 points total.

Biggest Disappointment (besides high draft picks)
Where was the midfield? Real Arse FC had three stellar defenders who finished in the top 10 in defender points. They had three more than capable forwards who finished #3, #9, and #17 in forward points. The highest ranked midfielders were James Maddison (#16) and Gerard Deulofeu (#20). The next best midfielder was Mesut Ozil at 50.... 50!

Only the manager can be to blame as he had made just 6 transactions the whole campaign. You can't improve the squad if you don't sign new players.

I'll post my scores tonight, guys. Sorry I've been such a terrible owner. Life has gotten busy and keeping track of fantasy has just fallen to the bottom of my list.

If there's someone reliable who wants to take my spot next season, I'll gladly step aside.
