Large BGE owner here, it’s a great tool. Some folks try to make it do everything, and it’s best as a grill and smoker. Gotta disagree with the previous poster who said it needs fiddling for a long cook—not my experience. Once you dial in the temp, it holds steady.
I have beaucoup accessories that see varying levels of use, but the one I use every single time is the KickAsh basket. It replaces the stock bottom grate that the charcoal rests on, increases airflow, reduces ash clogging, and makes the thing much faster to light.
