Not sure if this is a troll or not, but I have been at this Navy thing for 18 years; 4 college, almost 10 AD, and going on 4 in the reserves.
I have seen a lot of people “surrender their mind, body, and soul”. The Navy existed 200 years before you got there and will be here well after we are gone.
The Navy should always come, at best, 3rd in your life.
Surrender yourself to your family and friends first.

It's a troll.
I love the Navy, I just have an extreme aversion to my command. I'm off to our nation's capital in December for my next tour of duty and am super excited. My plan is to network there and (hopefully) settle down with a contracting job when I get out at the end of this next enlistment.
